What do we take with us?

As he came from his mother’s womb, naked shall he return, to go as he came; and he shall take nothing from his labour which he may carry away in his hand.
Ecclesiastes 5:15

What do we take with us?
Man brings nothing into the world at birth. But then he begins to acquire some things. Even children collect treasures that are valuable to them. Later, more and more possessions are added. Often much effort is expended to acquire these riches.

When a person dies, he cannot take any of it with him. His last shirt has no pockets. He has to leave behind everything he has accumulated for himself. Although this fact is undeniable, many behave as if it were not true. Right up into old age, they strive to collect many things and thus increase their earthly possessions.

Can’t we take anything with us into the hereafter? Yes, we can! Jesus Christ says: “He who believes in Me has everlasting life” (John 6:47). Through personal faith in the Lord Jesus, who died on the cross for our salvation, we receive eternal life. This is a life of happy relationship with God, whom we now know as our Father in heaven.

This is a gift we keep forever. When we die, we go home to Christ. Because we possess eternal life, He will raise us from the dead and receive us, spirit, soul and body, into heaven. With Him we will be eternally happy.

Isn’t this hope an incentive to live for the Lord Jesus now and thus gather treasures for heaven?

Today’s reading: Ezekiel 16:35-63 · Psalms 119:113-128

UNCOVERING EVIL

The presence of the supernatural power of God in a church can take that church beyond limits.
It can also uproot the presence of evil in the midst of Gods children. In Acts 5, a couple were uprooted through this. If we are going to sanitise the church, we need the Holy Spirit. Just as we need Him to heal, save...More

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; ...More

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)

In the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages of time, but has manifested in its own due season His word.
(Titus 1:2-3)

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)
I can lie. Titus could too, and so could the Cretans. But God can not lie. I can deceive. But...More
