The path of life

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
John 7:37

The path of life
Modern music concerts attract crowds of enthusiastic fans like a magnet. The singers enjoy unspeakable adoration. But a life in the fast lane is not automatically a happy life.

As if to prove the point, sad news hit the media in 2017: World-famous US singer Chris Cornell was dead! He had an incredible vocal range of almost four octaves, from a particularly deep bass to a very high tenor. With his band he sold 22 million records. On 17 May, he performed in Detroit in front of countless listeners. A short time later he was found dead in his hotel room. He had taken his own life.

Many are in search of happiness but are on the wrong track. They are striving for fulfilment in life, but on the path of sin and self-will. The masses are there on the road of life, running from one event to another but still remaining unsatisfied. Only a decisive change to the right path will help.

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it” (Matthew 7:13).

Those who choose the narrow path of life come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who quenches the thirst of their soul.

Today’s reading: 1 Samuel 11:1-15 · Psalms 94:1-11

CAN SATAN RIGHTLY ACCUSE YOU?

Besides discouragement, another weapon Satan uses often against believers is their weaknesses. He simply studies an individual for a period of time and not long after, he identifies the fellow's weakness and capitalizes on it. Take for instance Peter. Satan discovered that Peter is a cowardly person-lacking in...More

DON'T KILL YOURSELF FOR NOTHING

Do hope you are learning from our meditations through Psalm 73. It pictures to us the reality of everyday living. I do hope you are realizing that after all there is no point envying the prosperous wicked. Do not kill yourself for nothing. You have your life to live. Do not be a puppet dancing the...More

Hudson Taylor...

John 19:30

The parents of Hudson Taylor (1832-1905), the well-known missionary in China, were believers. From their example, he noticed early in life how helpful prayer and the Bible are.
His parents' exemplary life impressed him, and he endeavoured to be as good a Christian as they were....More
