For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition which I asked of him.

Pray without ceasing.

1 Samuel 1:27; 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

An ark of bulrushes (2)
After watching over their children with great care and giving the appropriate attention at every stage of their growth, parents are faced with the moment when they have to allow them to leave the family home for a world in which dangers abound. What can they do to continue showing their concern and care for their children?

The following thoughts are by a Christian author with reference to the story of Moses:

“Pray, and keep on praying! In this way you will make an ark of bulrushes impervious to the world and sin, even if you have to put it in the reeds of the river. God will take care of it, and your prayers will not be in vain. Perhaps you will not ascertain any immediate effects. But know that they are like an investment with the Lord, bringing fruitful interest laid up in the kingdom of God. Thousands of parents will discover, when they are with the Lord, how efficacious their ark has proved for the protection and the salvation of their children or grandchildren through their prayerful perseverance.”

“As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15).

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31).

“If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” (1 John 5:14).

Pray. Pray. Pray.

That's all we can do when our children finally leave us to start their lives.
