It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.For me to live is Christ.
Galatians 2:20: Philippians 1:21

Am I a Christian?
Christianity is not merely an occasional pious occupation, even if that is the practice of numerous people. Nor is being a Christian adherence to certain ceremonies like baptism, the marriage blessing, the Christmas church service, or more solemnly the funeral service. All this is, in fact, only outward show to satisfy one’s conscience. One does not like to do without it, although one could easily do so. The Christian faith is not just the conviction that there is a powerful, righteous God.

The apostle Paul describes true Christianity in four words: “Christ lives in me.” Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to this earth not to show that He was a man as God desired him, but to bring us into a new relationship. I enter this relationship when I believe

that Jesus Christ truly is the One sent by God to save me,
that His pure life sheds light on my life and repudiates it,
that He did not come to condemn me but, on the contrary, to bear the punishment that my sins deserved and to grant me eternal life because He loves me.
In this way Jesus enters my life properly. He makes of me a “new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of him who created him” (Colossians 3:10). Jesus lives in me. He is the initiator and the source of all Christian activity, giving it its strength and sense. My relationship with Christ incorporates my entire life and will remain eternally, even beyond death.
